Michael Wells Chosen as New Elverta Joint Elementary School District Superintendent/Principal

 

Elverta, CA – The Elverta Joint Elementary School District School District Board of Trustees announced that Michael Wells will be the district’s new Superintendent/Principal, starting July 1, 2021.  Mr. Wells replaces retiring superintendent Michael Borgaard. 

 

Since 2017, Mr. Wells has served as Superintendent/Principal for the Alta-Dutch Flat Union School District. In previous roles at the Rocklin Academy/Western Sierra Collegiate Academy District, he served as an Assistant Principal and Director of Athletics and Student Affairs.  Mr. Wells has also served as a Life Science Teacher and Head Varsity Football Coach in the Compton Unified School District.  Mr. Wells holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration from San Diego State University.  He received his clear single subject teaching credential and his Administrative Services credential from National University.

 

Mr. Wells stated, " I am excited to be the newest member of the Elverta School District Family. I am looking forward to building upon the great traditions and culture that already exists within the community. My door is always open and I look forward to meeting and listening to all stakeholders."

 

Elverta Board President Ray Lippincott said, “We are looking forward to having Michael Wells join us as the new Superintendent/Principal”.

 

The Elverta Joint Elementary School District Board of Trustees began the search process in January for the District’s next Superintendent/Principal. The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) assisted in the search. David W. Gordon, Sacramento County Superintendent of Schools, served as Board Advisor in this process.
